Would love any input re the following, as I kind of have fairly expensive taste, but not exactly the budget.
Is it acceptable to buy a nice discounted or discontinued sheitle, styled or pre-cut from one company (ie Freeda online) & then to bring it to a sheitle macher to cut & dye perhaps too, in order to save money?
I actually did that once years ago, my shul had a vendor selling good quality pre-cuts for 550. I bought it & brought it this sheitle macher I like, who was nice and gracious about it, but am wondering if that's really fine, or perhaps is it tacky? I ended up with a nice sheitle, saving a very large amount, paying around 1,000 from start to finish (vs more like 2,500 had everything been done by her from the start).
Any perspective or experience to share? Thank you

I can't imagine what the problem would be. Many shaitel machers work with all different company wigs.

Thank you, that makes sense to me, but I've been wrong before & wasn't sure. Like if it's more expected that one buys the actual sheitle from the macher. But not everyone can afford that, & it's a business not a relationship.
Thank you for the feedback!

Not all shaitel machers even sell shaitels... Those who do, I think you can ask and if they say it's fine, no need to second guess .
