My son is just about 11 years old but he is about 5 feet tall and 130 pounds. I didn’t really buy him school clothing this year, as he fit into most of his shirts from last year. I didn’t buy him pants either because I had bought him a bunch of new ones in the spring. He has a very difficult fit, because he is a big boy but he’s not really fat. I just is very solid and has a belly. He doesn’t really fit into a lot of husky clothes because he has a tiny tush, and husky clothes is usually huge by the butt. I think he is about a size regular 18 in shirts and a 16 in pants. He fits into a gap 14 husky pants pretty well, so pants is really not the issue. He might also fit into 16 husky shirts in some companies- but not in gap. That’s what he’s been wearing till now, and they really don’t look good on him anymore. It’s possible he would fit into some men’s sizes by now, but I have no idea what size or which company.

Basically, please tell me where to find my son shirts for school. I am desperate and I have no idea where to even start. Thanks for reading. Looking forward to your ideas!

Did you try Land’s End? Their regular size shirts are a cut more generously than other brands and they have a husky option as well.

My son seems to be the same exact size at 5 feet and around 130 lbs though he is 10.
The Gap pants in 14 husky are a lifesaver... till I found the right fit.
The husky boys shirts from lands end work well.
He also has Zara tops size 13/14
And Abercrombie kids size 15/16

Right, so the Zara tees 13-14 are good, but he can’t wear them to school. And the polos run a lot smaller and only come in 3 colors. I just ordered him 5 polos and a shirt in size 18 from lands end, should I have gotten the husky?

Also is there any reason you aren't going for the round necked sweaters from Zara? Why only Polos?

I was also going to suggest Ash & Anvil, featured on Shark Tank. They make clothes for shorter guys and their fit might work nicely for what you need. I don't think they carry polos though, just dress shirts.

He probably needs a dollar for school dress code.

Momm3b2c, did you use the 40% off code? It is code:WALNUT and pin 7199. If not, you can call them at 1-800-963-4816 and they will adjust the price with a smile.
Long live Lands End!

School dress code. Polos or button downs. Otherwise I would do graphic tees l. Much more my style.

On a side note, anyone interested in size 14-16 shirts? Have a stack of them to give away in a few days.
