Since we've ended our "outside season" (within the past couple of weeks we stopped spending a lot of time outside in the late afternoon), my kids seem to have way too much energy to burn off. Supper and bedtime are a nightmare, they wreck the house, there are all kinds of noises from upstairs until 9:30, and then I can't get them up in the morning, we miss the bus, etc. How do I step off this train?

Well soon they can play in the snow and your problem will be solved 😅

Tonight supper was at 7 (we ran very late) and it was much better that way...they already burnt all their energy and then hw and bed was actually very fast. I think that sitting them down to supper right after school is too much for them.

Sounds like an interesting idea. Did you put the little ones in pajamas before supper?

I serve dinner between 6 (good day) and 7(bad day) My three year old goes to bed around 7:30 my seven year old around 8. Pajamas depends on who bathes when. It works well for us.

with a little bit of effort, kids can still play outside for most of winter. it's so important.

What is the problem with going outside?
Cold?
Dark?

If you have an enclosed yard, give them flashlights it get a floodlight.
An extra sweater or fleece jacket for cooler days.
Reflectors on their outerwear and lights on their bikes are good safety measures.

I only have one little one, and since it wasn't bath night she went right to bed after. But if I was doing baths then I prob would have done it in pajamas.
