I had a simcha this past week and people in my community hosted family members members for shabbos. I wanted to send a gift before Shabbos, but I was so busy that I never got around to buying/making anything. Anyone have ideas of something nice to send, after that fact?
Annonomous incase any of them are on Imamother.

Beautiful table game that can be kept on a coffee table for decorative purposes. Like a wooden chess, checkers, chinese checkers.
People love, love, love receiving gifts in the mail!!

If you are a baker, cookies or cake on a nice plate. A cookbook is nice. I second the suggestion above for a nice game, too.

Something edible or otherwise consumable that their family can enjoy, or can pass on to someone who will enjoy it.
Never send "things." Most people have enough "things." And even if they don't, they don't want to feel obligated to display the "thing" that you purchased, even if it doesn't match their decor or their style.
