I am looking for recommendations about Dr. Clyde Alexander from UK.

Does anyone have anything to say about him?

Is it worth the hassle of a trip to London with 2 kids? How much time will I have to stay in London?

I was told he has a 'Talmid' here in Israel. Any idea what's his name and if he's as good as Alexander?

How does the process work? How much do they charge?

TIA

I know someone who went to him, and yes, felt there was a tremendous difference. I don't know about Israel.

My sister took three of her kids. It's a lot of money, but you can't put a price on being able to read. It's not just one visit, you do have to go for follow up visits as well. And, I guess, the price of the glasses and lenses.

I have never used him but have heard great reviews from others. They say he is worth the trip.
I think you see him once when you are there so you don't have to stay more then a day, there are follow up visits as well.

Is this the Behavioural Optometrist?
Ive heard good reviews about him.
Is it worth it from Israel? Perhaps email his office and ask who the person is in Israel. Lots of people go to him, so you won't be the first to ask. See the local person and then think about coming over here. It's much more convenient and will help you decide if Behavioral Optometry is the way to go .
Btw, if it is the same person, I think he has a waiting list, it could be a few months until you get to see him.

I have heard that he literally changes the lives of some children by prescribing prism glasses. For some reason a regular pediatric ophthalmologist does not test the eyes the way he does to see if prism glasses would work.

I was thinking of taking my child who has difficulty writing and is not reading at grade level. However, travelling to England is just so overwhelming to me. Also, I once took my child to a vision specialist a few yrs ago who said that my child was not a good candidate for prism glasses. I am not sure of Dr. Alexander would agree with that and since that child is still struggling I really want to find something that can help.

At this point I also heard of a "behavioral optometrist" who is located in upstate NY, Dr. Nayor. Perhaps I will try there first before travelling to England.

Again, I have heard unbelievable stories about how Dr. Alexander changed many children's life. I am wondering if anyone ever traveled to him and he wasn't able to help?

I'm in the same dilema. Ds doesn't read or write, but Eye Dr. Said he's not a candidate for prism. What other options can I try?

Speaking as an Occupational Therapist, there's no one, magic solutions to learning disabilities. Yes, perhaps prism glasses might help slightly, but won't suddenly result in ypur child reading at grade level, catching up on all the missed work.
Prism glasses, vision therapy, Orton-Gillingham, OT, RMT, Integration of retained reflexes. A combination of some or all of these will gradually help your child to achieve.

He is great. if it's possible I would definitely recommend to go to him. I know plenty of people in NY that went to him and non regretted it. there is a Dr. Zielinski in Chicago that comes in to Brooklyn to envision optics. she uses the same method as Dr. Alexander but is not as great as him. some have been very successful with her thought. you can also request that she (Dr. zielinski) go over the case with Dr. Alexander. I know a few that traveled to Chicago to her as well in a one day trip. with prism glasses it is of utmost importance to go every half year (or as told by Dr.. by Dr. Alexander it could be he says once a year) as once a child graduates a prism glasses it can cause harm that can take a long time to reverse.

Basically yes in the end he does.
I believe Alexandet does base in base out prisms while Nayor does base up base down.
I don't have the time at the moment to explain exactly the difference but I will try tomorrow.
