We stopped sometime between age 3 and 4. She wanted to because her peers were all wearing cute dresses and skirts.  I didn't vote because it didn't really have anything to do with letting or not.

I have boys but when my oldest was in 3 year old playgroup most of the girls started the year in pants and by the end they were all wearing skirts/dresses. It was a pretty yeshivish crowd.

Shouldn't you also be asking what background the responders are? Like obviously Chassidish and yeshivish stop at 3, but others may stop later

Mine isn't five yet but when she gets there (soon) I imagine my answer will be pants are only ok at home.

I allow it only in the house & when we travel long distances & they want to be comfortable. Though when we travel they wear leggings under a long top/tunic.

The school I work in allows up to five. But most stop at three. I don't have girls yet but depends whatever my dh and I decide.
I dress quasi chasidish but I am chasidish.

It's not about letting or not letting. The school rule is skirts and dresses only, so from when she enters school in nursery she has no pants in her wardrobe. Regardless of age.
If she'd express a desire to wear pants at home, I don't think I'd have a problem with it, but she hasn't asked because she doesn't see anyone her age in pants. It's just not on her radar.

How not? She's not wearing pencil skirts so she can run and climb.

Yes but I'd let my daughters wear pants at any age, as do I (we're DL). Their school requires skirts starting in fourth grade but most girls just toss skirts on top of their pants.

I would love to send my 3 year old dd to nursery in pants, especially now that it's winter, but she's in a BY Gan and she's literally the only kid in pants, so I mostly send her in dresses / skirts

(We Brits actually don't wear pants anyway - for us that refers to mens' underwear.)
