Title says it all. I remember reading (binah, ami? Maybe in the mishpacha? Help me out if you remember that article)
about women volunteers visiting inmates and thought... Ok wow. Lately I've been thinking about it. (I'm weird, I know).
Does anyone here do this or know someone who does? I'd love to learn more about this.

From what I read it looks like they are in 15 state prisons in California.

No. I can't imagine being comfortable with it. But I have a few friends who do it. Amazing women.

Aleph is a Chabad program based in Florida but services inmates, military and their families wherever they are .
My husband goes to prison on every yom tov, Chanukah, Purim, Chol hamoed and then before Rosh Hashana and Shavuos, he goes with a group and they have permission to bring relevant yom tov paraphernalia.

I've gone to prison a few times too, very dreary and depressing but very uplifting for those receiving visitors

If they are in NY, is there any way I can get in touch?

You can also contact DROR. They can guide you fully, with inmate information and travel advice.

I don't want to be tracked down once they get out. I have a family. Hug all you want.
