A lament for my missing cleaning lady
Who suddenly disappeared
I really really need her!!
I paid her more then double
I fed her every time
I never criticized her “cleaning”
She came late
She left early
But I kept my mouth shut
For working mom and wife
Being left without a maid
Is a recipe for disaster!
My floors are waiting to be mopped
My toilets to be cleaned
Your pockets to be filled again
Last week you were sick
The next two weeks you are on holiday
The week after you will be sick again!!
So I think it is time
To say a goodbye
Me- HELLLP!!
Anyone that lives in Lakewood and has a cleaning lady with even 2 hours to spare me?????

I would give you mine for 2 hours
But that wouldn't be enough
To clean your toilets and all the other stuff
You have a list of chores
and would beg her to stay more
And more
You'd even offer to pay double
which would cause me so much trouble
You wouldn't really settle for less
When your house is such a mess
Sounds like you really need more time
Rather than use the 2 hours that are mine
Find a new maria....
There are so many out there

My intention is not find a new servant or slave but rather to hire a PAID worker to come help me clean my apartment Erev shabbos or Sunday morning.

You didn't say anything wrong imho.
I pay the plumber painter electrician. I am upset if tjey dontf show up or leave midjob. I dont see the difference.

And the fact you do not see her
Reminds me of my own
Reason to moan and groan
Lourdes came to clean
Though my pots don't have a sheen
At least the laundry pile
Didn't grow as high as a mile
I tried to scrub the john,
My initiative is gone,
I'm too old, says my back,
Must try another track,
Well Lourdes would come late
Or early she would leave
Don't know if she's time challenged,
Or meaning to deceive
But I finally said enough,
please clean up all my stuff
I'll pay you well per hour
If you come late I won't glower
But payment will be precise,
Don't tell me I'm not nice,
I pay for work you do
You get what's coming to you.
My daughter warned me, Ma,
She isn't a shifcha,
Be generous with pay,
So she'll come next Monday
Alas, I guess she was pained
By the few dollars I had gained
(Or more precisely not lost
As I counted it too high a cost)
So that's the last I've seen her
Of this woman, my former cleaner,
And if you know someone good,
Who will charge me like she should
I'll pay well per hour for work,
As long as she won't shirk
I'll daven for a yeshuah,
And hope for someone newer.
(Anon because people won't fail
To know me from this sad tale

I'd also be mighty annoyed to if someone I expected to show up to my house to do a job, didn't. But this poem went beyond that.
