Which areas of Monsey and around it are more yeshivish/litvish/kollel... mix...?
Not as high standard of living, but houses-not developments like dykstras, bates etc, lower price --ie under 600k, all around friendly, warm etc...
Really wanting to find a place we'll fit in. Almost an out of town flavor.
Thoughts?

Spring hill is past old nyack turnpike on the way to the garden state parkway and yes is a chasidish and yeshivish mix.
Dexter park is mostly yeshivish and very down to earth- we recently moved here and are very happy. The houses are in the range of 500-600K and mostly high ranches with some colonial styles.
New city I believe is more of a mix but definitely nicer homes and higher taxes- it is also further from kosher shopping.
Haverstraw from what I hear is yeshivish and also nicer homes and higher taxes and even further out than New City.
Shaindel Moore is a broker who lives in New City who can tell you more.
From what you describe Dexter Park would be a good fit- feel free to PM me for specifics.

The new up the hill area in new hempstead is a new community of very friendly down to earth litvish/yeshivish/open minded yeshivish people. Definitely worth looking into
