great to bake on a freezing cold day with a cup of hot cocoa or tea !!!
vanishing oatmeal raisin
1 cup crisco
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup regular sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
mix (I use a whipper for fluffiness)
add 1 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon (I put 2)
1/2 tsp salt
mix
3 cups quaker oat meal
1 cup raisins
(my variation [white] choc chips & craisins + raisins)
bake at 350° for 12 - 15 minutes
quaker has since taken out some of the oil I believe or sugar or both [not as tasty]

Thanks! I remember these from the Quaker Oats canisters... Do you think I can substitute coconut oil for the Crisco?
What is a "whipper"?

definitely can replace crisco with coconut oil - the thick white kind ... can also leave out eggs for vegan version [or replace with chick pea juice or banana or coconut cream]
a whipper is the whisk attachment for whipping egg whites & whipping cream

Oh, d'uh, for some reason I wasn't thinking along those lines. Interesting technique, I gotta try that for cookies I feel come out a bit too dense.
