going rate is $18 an hour I know because that is what I get!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $10 an hour is laughable and insulting

I don't live in Lakewood, but my neighbor has a playgroup and she offered my friend the job of playgroup assistant, told her that she could bring her baby along and would get paid 14 an hour, my friend said no to the job offer but my neighbor seems to have found someone at that price point anyway.
A lot of playgroup assistant jobs are like that. Low pay but you can bring a baby along.

$1500 a month seems to be on the higher end. Playgroup assistants, like any other job, has a range of salary paid. It depends alot on the hours, whether you are bringing along your own baby, the age of the kids, your responsibilities as an assistant, and a million other factors.
I wouldn't ask for $1500 a month based on a salary quoted on imamother.
