As my kids get older I see that they are learning so much about tu bshvat. Growing up it was never a big deal and just a mention in passing with some dried fruits on the table and the reminder to eat one.

I would love to make it special but I really don’t know how? Can you share some ideas of what you do? Are there even any things that you suppose to do? I don’t even know

My bigfer ones make checklists for the party we have before supper. Everyone fills in the fruit they ate....and on the next column how it tasted (sweet, bitter) the third column is for if they like it or not.
It makes it fun and they try to each write 15.

We try to get 15 different fruits and nuts, fresh and dried. Some are ha'adama because we like them, so they are not included in the count.
I arrange them on a huge glass platter that we got as a wedding gift but it's too big to use.
Dh says the tefilla for a beautiful esrog.

Last year we made chocolate bark topped with chopped dried fruits and nuts. It's easy to make and the kids love them!

I make a “healthy” chocolate “fondue” and serve it with tons of cut fruit/nuts/dried fruit + pretzels or bread cubes for our tu b’shevat supper every year. My kids can’t wait!

I decorate the table nicely with fruit napkins, fun platters, flowers from dried apples...we eat the shivas haminim and then other fruits. Sometimes I make jello with some fruit in it for dessert.

Hey, I love that song also, but it's a different version, the non-Yiddish one.

We serve all 7 minim at the meal as well as a platter of dried fruit and candy petite fruits. It's so nice to sit and enjoy a special dinner that's different than usual all together. We sing the 7 minim, point out what's what at the table, and just enjoy ourselves.

Like above plus some other ideas.
Shivat haminim of course! We try as figs these days can be infested.
We put different fruits into monkey dishes and martini cups. A fancy 99¢ tablecloth. We also do the skewers and fruit roll up flowers. Good luck
