Suffern central is closed for today. My son has school but I need to drive him. My daughter's playgroup is open. There is a winter weather advisory in effect today. Are you driving today?

As of now I am planning to keep my boys home and work from home.

I don't want to get stuck when I need to pick up the boys. BTDT

It's only supposed to snow till 12 & it's not snowing yet... I don't see why there shouldn't be school.

It only helps your car, not all the other cars on the road that can skid into you.

I totally agree. But being able to not skid on a downhill is helpful.

Yes. They make a mountain and of a mole hill in Rockland due to liability issues.

And I am glad they do. Many places have no sidewalks and are hilly with kids not having a safe place to wait or even walk to the bus.

My kids are in three schools and they have off. The only yeshiva I assume is still on is probably Bais Dovid.

My kids school is closed and im very happy. They are predicting snow and then freezing rain. Icy conditions. Why risk it? I do not understand people who get upset at school closings. (And yes I am a working mother). If you were told on a random day that there is a significant chance the car with your kids in it will be involved in a serious car accident, and you had the choice of putting them in that car or not, why in the world would you put them in that car??

All the main roads are fine now. A little slushy, is all.

Be careful though! The side roads are a slippery mess. I've just been driving around - don't drive if you don't have to.
