would love to buy a megillah for husband he's always wanted.. anyone know the going rates? I think I'm just going to tell him to pick but what's the difference with actual megillahs and cases? price ranges? places to go? any help is appreciated!

I don't know Lakewood places, but I think there are different types of Megillahs (sizes, HaMelech, Gra), so definitely don't just buy something before knowing what type he wants. Pricewise, I believe you're looking at a minimum of $1000, with nicer ones more like $1500 and up. Cases don't have to cost much - there are basic material ones that cost under $50, or you could get silver that obviously costs a lot more.
