Please share any interesting games that you have to play at a Chanukah party.
Please include the details of the game when posting the name of the game.

I'll start:

Write down either the hebrew or english letters each on a seperate piece of paper and throw them all in a bag. Everybody brings a few small prizes and you pick out two papers from the bag. Then you hold up a prize and read out the two letters that were picked out. Whoever can come up with the best descritption using those two letters to describe the item wins the item.

Example: You hold up a pack of crayons and pick out the letters F and A and someone says Artistic Fun, that would be the winning description (unless there's a better one.) Get the idea???

We played this last year so I need new ideas. Please bring them on Smile

Each person brings a small gift and everybody sits in a circle and all the gifts are put in the middle. Each person gets a number from 1-10. Number 1 picks a gift and opens it. number two has the option to take number 1's gift or pick from the middle. number 2 can choose 1 or 2's gift or pick from the middle and so one. ITS FUN!

everybody brings a little something to the party and shows it to all the other guests, before hiding it behind their back. The first person that takes a turn has to remember what he/she liked and asks for that little gift, which he/she then hides behind his/her back too....the next person has to remember where the gifts are now, otherwise he/she loses a turn.

Game ends when u decide (3-4 rounds) its a fun memory game and everyone pays close attention to get what caught their eye in the first place!

Ok, this one doesnt need gifts
you need a bunch of nouns (person, place or thing) and stick one of them on the first players' forehead. for example the word apple is stuck onto your forehead....

now you have to figure out whats on your head, while everyone else can clearly see the word.

The player gets to ask as many questions as he/she needs to figure out whats on their forehead but they must all be yes/no questions. and everyone else gets a chance to answer the questions, one by one
for example the player might ask...

is it a person? "no"
is it an object? "yes"
is it a fruit? "yes"
is it grapes? "no"

When the player guesses the word, the next person gets one stuck to his forehead
it can get really funny when people start asking weird questions or are having a hard time figuring out what word is stuck on them!

I have another game that doesn't need gifts. We played this last year Chanukah!

The more people play this game the more fun it is! It will have everyone laughing.

Everyone needs to bring a Hat. One person will be the instructor. (This works best if everyone sits or stands in a circle. )

Everyone puts on the hat they brought and the instructor will give the following Rules. When Instructor says the:

# 1 it means that everyone has to touch their own hat that's on their head.
#2 - they have to pick up the hat.
#3- they have to put the hat they are holding in their hand and put it on the person head sitting on the right.
#4 they have to put the hat they are holding in thier hand and put it on the person sitting on the left.

It will take a few times till everyone gets it right, once everyone gets the hang of it instructor will start saying the numbers faster and faster and in a mixed up form. People end up losing the concentration and it gets too funny how some people end up with three hats etc.

I like this idea.

Silly question. How do we stick the paper containing the noun on our foreheads?

Instead of a tight headband, why don't you tape it onto the back of the person's shirt?
