A long time ago, there were these great records put out by M. Yess, both together w/S. Levine as well as alone. The songs became classics (My Zaydie, etc) and I would love to get new copies - I would assume on audio cassettes. Does anyone have any idea where they can be found?

thanks so much for the tip! I wonder if anyone else (also in Israel - maybe Gal-Paz?) would also sell them?

I'm reviving this thread hoping that maybe someone new wants to get rid of this tapes (or record?) that may be gathering dust somewhere in their house.

I remeber Moshe Yess. My Father used to say that it was his long lost brother because He was Moshe Yess and my father was always Moshe NO

I remember them. I went to one of their concerts once at the Plaza hotel in Yerushalayim. I remember the pushka song and the zeydie song...

DH thinks we still have a tape. If so (& he actually thinks he knows where it is!) he said he'll put it on a CD as times have changed & we don't have tape decks in the car anymore Wink

Now us howling along will really make our kids crazy!! LOL

if he does that, do you think he can make me a copy too - how much do you think he would want me to pay you?

I just sent him the following email:

I am on a mission on behalf of a group of 50-something women who are desperately seeking an original soundtrack of Moshe Yess's/Megama's hit album from the 1970's/80's...the one with My Zaidy, the Dollar Bill, G-d is alive & well in Jerusalem, Jack Schwartz, David Cohen's Bar Mitzvah etc etc.

We know we can get the digitalized, revamped issue from Sameach, but we want to re-live the old days!!! Is there any way I can buy an old, original tape...do you know of anywhere we can try? Ebay, Craigs List etc?

Those were the heydays of Jewish music & these songs bring back amazing memories. We've been talking & reminiscing, & it would be nice for our children & grandchildren to hear these classics the way we heard & sang along to them.

Many thanks in advance, Hatzlacha with everything you're involved with today!

So, ladies, now we wait. Rolling Eyes
