Ladies!
Please help me! I'm looking to make a big list of salads that can be made on Thursday or Friday to help save time in the lead up to Shabbos (and on Shabbos itself!). I'm looking for salads that taste better when they've been dressed a day or two beforehand and will keep nicely in the fridge!
Any ideas welcome!
Thanks!

Cucumber salad
Cole slaw
Pasta salad (I usually add a little more mayo before serving)
Mushroom salad
Couscous salad
I make almost all of mine before shabbos except a fresh salad... my mind has gone blank now, but when I think of more I'll post them!

I know lots of saldas that you can have ready- with the dressing in a separate container- all you'd have to do- right b4 dinner, is to pour the dressing over.. how would that work for you??

Sure... it's in the Balabusta's cookbook. Let me know if you don't have the book, and I'll type it up for you!

Mushroom Salad:
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. vinegar
1/4 c. water
2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. white pepper (I use black... no difference!)
1/4 c. sugar
Combine all of the above ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil
Reduce heat and add:
1 1/2 c. sliced carrots
Cover pot and simmer for 5 minutes
Add:
2 cartons sliced fresh mushrooms
1 1/2 c. diced red pepper
1 1/2 c. diced green pepper
1/2 c. onions (circle sliced)
Simmer for 3 more minutes
Remove from heat, add
2 tsp. basil
and refrigerate
