OUr rule is 1 week on leftovers as long as they weren't sitting out very long, I.e., after they have been taken off the blech.

I am sure many will say that is too long but K"H, neither DH nor I has ever had food poisoning.

If you served cold cuts for any meals, I would certainly be wary of those, especially for children and pregnant women, for whom listeria poses a larger threat than for an adult male.

well I make chicken soup friday morning. I use it until monday night only then the rest goes in bin unless id frozen it. the same with chicken til monday night. I think 2 days on all foods is my general rule. so if I make something for supper I would use it for 2 nights after but then it goes in the bin.
