My shipment has finally arrived from Australia and my DH and I are going to pick it up. The problem is, the port requires us to bring a huge moving truck (26 feet long) eventhough we don't have that much stuff.
My DH doesn't drive, so I am going to be driving it.
Has anyone here done this before? Advice?

It's been a long time since I've had to deal with that, but I did do it many years ago. Correction - my then boyfriend did the actual driving, but it was my stuff. I don't drive trucks. I do have advice. You may load it up and it'll look and feel really secure, because it appears to be a big room. But things really shift around when you're driving. I had things topple over in the back and go flying just because we'd turn a corner. My stereo speaker broke. I naively stacked things without securing those things that needed to be secured.
Drive carefully. If you're not used to driving a truck, it's a very different experience. Leave plenty of space between yourself and other vehicles.

Who's going to help you unload it? I suppose if you could, you'd hire someone. When we moved, we had movers bring our container, bring it up (4th floor with elevators), and put it together. It was so worth it, but it was part of the package when we moved the movers there, the container, and the movers here. We also got the package that they packed, took everything apart and put everything together. We had to unpack of course .
Good luck and hatzlacha on your back or whoever is doing the unloading.

Was it much more difficult than driving a car? Was it hard to make turns and reverse?
