The chesher like a house, I have been told is not reliable. Call the va'ad and they will give you a better explanation. When DH comes home I will ask WHY it is not reliable, and some time next week I will get back to you. Even PAREVE. There are other cocoas that have a hesher. I use hersheys.

reliable according to whom? from what I see in the heimishe velt, every two by nothing rebbe has his own hechsher, and his chassidim will accept only his and not the rebbe's down the road a piece.

Now if you have a product that does not require a hechsher at all, and it bears what you consider to be an "unreliable" hechsher, do you buy another brand?

this a quote from the CRC site: "There are more than 700 kosher certifying agencies around the world! For a complete list of Kashrus agencies (which includes cRc recommended and non-recommended agencies) visit Kashrus Magazine Online (or call 1-718-336-8544). "

http://www.crcweb.org/kosher/c......html

List of hechsherim considered reliable by the Chicago Rabbinical Council. Of course, if the CRC is not kosher enough for you, then it follows that this list will not be, either.

I saw a fry cocoa container today with no hechsher and it said it contains trace of milk... guess it's old stock. when I was at the store I was trying to remember where is saw the info about it.

either way there is a frum grocer who sells dutch cocoa for really cheap and I like to give him the business.

It's a brand name like hersheys cocoa ( but not nearly as good)
Tova, IGA sells Hershey's and it's so much better, why don't you just buy that?
