WWYD? (postal worker cursing in public)

I was in my kids' room with my 2 yr old and the postal worker driving in her mail truck was outside delivering mail. she was so loud on her cell phone, so rude, "f*** this and f*** that." I was thinking about calling the post office to complain. to be so loud I could hear her in my house? WWYD?

Let it go. Everyone is allowed to have a bad day at the office, and I'm sure she thought nobody was listening. Besides, you don't want her to get into trouble and go postal.

reminds me of the time I was walking down the street and out of the parked Verizon van the fumes of a 'special' cigarette were flowing out strong enough to make me cough in the open air.

I was looking around for a cop (obviously they all disappeared at that precise second) since that particular street was usually patrolled. I wondered briefly about calling Verizon as the guy is driving and working with electrical equipment and in the homes of others...but just gave up. right or wrong, I just gave up...

I would think that these days this is one of the things that contributes to postal worker madness... it can't feel good to know you are dispensable and on the verge of becoming a dinosaur.

Nope...I was imagining a postal worker like C3PO...couldn't you program one to be very placid, well-spoken and pleasant?

well ladies, it turned out she just shoved my mail into the box, causing it to rip. I think I am going to complain.

sorry to interrupt the nerdy sci-fi chit-chat (lol..my husband probably owns every sci-fi book known to man)...

I am not sure now if I want to complain. if I complain, I have to identify my house so they know the route/letter carrier. if she got ahold of that info, you guys are right, she might "go postal" on me.

it's a sad day when decent people can't speak up for what's right because they fear reprisal.

Do you consistently have to deal with torn mail? Bad behavior? If it's just this one day, can't you cut her some slack and figure she might be having a bad day? Maybe her supervisor was horrible to her, maybe her husband did something terrible, maybe her dog ate her kid's homework.

One day's bad behavior isn't really justification for reporting her, in my opinion.

(and, by the way, I resent the implication that sci-fi chitchat is nerdy. I'm going to come and curse outside your window for that one)
