Monday night we were at my sister-in-laws for a Memorial Day BBQ. When it was time to go my DD (8 years old) started whining she wanted to stay longer to play with her cousins.

I said, "We have to go; you have school tomorrow."
DD, "No, I don't, it's Memorial Day"
Me: "No honey, today is Memorial Day"
DD: "I thought all holidays were two days."

It took a second but then I realized she was confused because she thought there should be a "Yom Shani Memorial Day shel galius"

Rolling Laughter Rolling Laughter Rolling Laughter Rolling Laughter

DH and I thought it was hysterical.

the non-frum relatives did not get it. LOL

That is funny. My kids have no idea about legal holidays since they have school.
