The first summer we were married, sixteen years ago, we went to a youth hostel in Tzfas for two days. Does that count?

The question is if you work in the summer at all, not if you take off a few days.

Umm, yeah...my agency operates 12 months a year, and we don't get Jewish holidays off--how would I NOT work during the summer?

Yeah, like cdawn said, if you arent teaching, you have to work in the summer. I love when people, who know what I do, ask me that. Of course I'm working!!

Me too. . . sure, I can take off, but I might not have a job when I get back. . . and I would be taking off without pay!

When I taught, I had the summer off. But then I had the stress of looking for a summer job, because no school in the summer means no paycheck either. Now, I work all year round...erev Yom Tov and chol Hamoed too.

No summer off for me either. It's been over three years since I've had any sort of vacation outside of yom tov days. Rolling Eyes
