O.K. you could try this (no promises about how it tastes):
[courtesy of this site: http://www.whole-body-detox-di.....html]
Creamy Tahini Ice Cream
Ingredients: (use organic whenever possible)
¼ cup sesame seeds [maybe you could use regular tahina paste]
1 tablespoon purified water
2 frozen bananas (peel them before you freeze them)
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions:
Grind sesame seeds in the coffee grinder.
Mix with water to make a thick paste.
Thinly slice frozen bananas.
Place sliced bananas, vanilla extract and sesame paste in a medium mixing bowl.
Mash mixture together against the side of the bowl with a fork until smooth and creamy [maybe blend in a blender?]. Try to work out the lumps and truly combine the sesame paste and bananas.
Enjoy right away or put in the freezer for later.

Hey, hi ribbie as well. I only came on this thread to say hello.
FS, google non dairy ice cream recipes and you will find loads of vegan ice cream recipes. Heres one to start: http://dairyfreecooking.about......s.htm
None of them seem to contain richs whip or oil.
an ice cream machine makes it easier but it is not essential.

yes - u can.
u can be creative and make it with any of the flavored puddings - it doesn't have to do with the flavor - it has to do with the thickness the pudding consistency.

We make lots of pareve ice creams and sorbets. You can make a vanilla custard where the eggs are cooked (just look up any vanilla custard recipe or vanilla ice cream recipe and substitute a pareve milk like soy milk). Great sorbet combinations we've done:
coconut milk/pureed mango/lemon juice/sugar to taste
pureed strawberries and kiwis/lemon juice/sugar to taste (A++++++)
pareve vanilla pastry cream, one cake of silken tofu, sugar to taste
make a chocolate custard and add chopped almonds and marshmallows (husband's favorite)
The fruit sorbets take about 5 minutes to make. I just puree everything in the food processor and freeze. The combinations of ingredients are endless. I was thinking of making a lime sorbet next... Maybe lime coconut??

FS, I'd boil up some jello, sugar, and water and when it cools somewhat I'd add marshmallow fluff and freeze. I don't think it's necessarily healthier but I think you'd get a creamy consistency.

I know someone on a "raw" diet who only eats raw foods and has been eating raw eggs for several years and has never gotten sick. He insists (as does his health guru) that the salmanella is on the shell as a previous poster mentioned. He washes the eggs in warm soapy water... at your own risk tho.

Here's the thing. I can't eat any added fats or any foods that naturally have fat (avocado, nuts, cocoa etc.). We don't use additives. I don't have a problem with sugar if necessary but best not in big quantities. Jello is out....so..I also can't eat dairy or most processed foods...yes I know, very limiting and it isn't by choice but by health necessity.
So that kind of leaves us with the mashed banana plus lemon juice and a bit of soy milk and sugar frozen stuff...better than nothing. Almost all the other recipies on the site mentioned here have nuts in them or yoghurt or some kind of processed stuff... davka cooked eggs are no problem for me, maybe I can make a cooked custard and freeze and mix...
