2 years ago when we were in I"y dh bought cholent in meah shearim for supper. There were these balls floating around in it that looked like matzah balls and were the color of khishka. He loved it.
I tried just making balls with my regular khishka recipe but it did not taste the same.
I tried making a cholent kugel recipe from Spice & spirit into balls and it fell apart and turned into a burnt film at the bottom.
Does anybody know a recipe how to make this?
Thanks.

DD makes the most amazing Kishkelech "ballies". She says to tell you to do a search on the recipe forum, that's where she found it. I'd do it for you, but you know I'll never find it!!! Wink She apologizes, too busy with new DD to go on imamother. I just read her the good bits Rolling Eyes

I think this is the recipe you're looking for:

kishka balls -kishkelach
2 tsp paprika
1tblsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup boiling water
1 1/2 cups flour

put in a bowl in order given. mix will form ball. either put in chulent as is (do not wrap) or make into little balls and put in chulent.

adds lots of flavor

Hi. Can someone help me out with the 'add lots of flavors' part of this recipe- what spices & measurements should I add in? TIA!

How much corn flake crumbs would you use to replace the flour? Exact amount? I love the sweet taste of it instead of flour.

It adds flavor to the cholent. No additional spices are needed in the recipe other then the ones listed.
