I need help please, what are traditional foods to serve before Yom Kippur fast? I'm having guests, and I know the food should not be too salty or spicy or anything. So let me know please...THanks!

I know dh likes soup, so a chicken soup with matzah balls or something is easy, but Im not a soup person so I need more things to serve.

we have a 'traditional shabbos' meal. Challah, falshe fish (ground chicken made like gefilte fish- I'm sure someone here has a recipe- it's a minhag not to eat fish before a fast), soup, roast chicken, farfel, compote.
I think it's probably the most traditional meal my mother serves all year. maybe another starch, like roasted sweet potatoes.
Easy, filling, not spicy or heavy. This is not a time you want to be fussing in the kitchen.

water-based fruits'n'veges are also good for b4 a fast. It helps you take in more water.

cukes, tomatoes, pepper, avocado, watermelon are all great!

A lot of challah and honey, fish for the first meal, soup, kreplach, light chicken (from the soup or from on top of the stove), potato kugle (bland) same with farfel, salads. Desert: ices, compote, watermelon and the like.

Have an easy fast!!

I serve brown rice and I find it really helps with fasting. I cook it with the chicken and potato so it has a good taste.
