instead of parve ice cream get sorbet from Trader Joes ( I think the brand is Nancys) It is parve and all natural and wonderful. I like mixing the coconut and the lemon sorbet together.

it's easy to make your own sorbet. blend fruit, lemon juice, sugar. freeze. when frozen, reblend. refreeze.

next ingredient I hate:

Oh, you must mean my delicious onion kugel!

1 cup margarine
1 packet onion soup mix
1/2 c. mayo
1 c. pareve creamer
1 Tbs. ketchup
Salt, pepper, and MSG to taste -- I like it salty!

Blend together and bake at 350 for 1 hr. Make an extra because your guests will ask for more!

You leave out the crushed potato chip topping?

Try onion powder plus salt for a quick oniony flavor. It's good enough for me and the kids, and DH just adds soup mix to his own bowl...

umm, not to get my head bitten off or anything,
but MSG is a natural food too.
many foods naturally contain MSG, such as BEETS.
"Originally produced from seaweed in the Orient, it is now made principally from cereal glutens, such as those of wheat, corn, and soybeans, from solutions evolved in the manufacture of beet sugar, and by microbiological fermentation of carbohydrates. The two raw materials used for the greater proportion of commercial production are wheat gluten and desugared beet-sugar molasses."-answers.com
some people are sensitive to it, but it's not necesarily evil, like margarine.
I DO like onion soup mix.
but I like how nutmeg adds flavor, in such a TINY amount, it's yummy, especially with anything mushroom-y or spinach-y
I LOVE cumin:
purple cumin cabbage salad
1 bag purple cabbage
1 pint grape tomatoes cut in half
hand full green olives, cut in half
dressing:
1/3 cup olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp garlic pwdr or minced fresh
salt and pepper
and here's adifferent one, celery seed! so fresh tasting!!
try adding it to your regular cole slaw recipe , so mayo, sugar, salt, pepper, vinegar, and celery seed! yum.

Not biting your head off but-
."Claiming MSG is natural because free glutamic acid appears in tomatoes is sort of like saying cocaine is natural because it's derived from ingredients found in the coca leaf"

I don't get it.
Just take a teaspoon of kosher salt, a teaspoon of garlic powder, a teaspoon of onion powder, a half a teaspoon of chili powder, a few dashes of pepper and a bit of carmelized brown sugar and you've got it for a hundredth of the price.
