My mother works in an upscale flower shop and she just received an order, and has to include a card that says, "Dear _________, thank you for helping to make our mothers memorial a warm and beautiful celebration"

Flowers are for many different occasions including this I guess.
We got a mishloach manos from a middle aged couple with a card that said "with deepest sympathy" on the front.

I agree with Lady Godiva. Many people have a memorial as an event to celebrate the person's memory, and they try to keep it upbeat.

Right-o. I think English is their first language and they knew exactly what they meant. Instead of mourning a death, they prefer to celebrate a life. That's right, celebrate. It's not our way, but it works for them..
Why do frum yidden always think our way is the only way???

A friend of mine died when we were in our mid-20's, and his family had this little booklet for the funeral with his photo on the front. It said, "A Celebration of the Life of XXXXXX."
