My mother is looking for the old spice and spirit cookbook. I think it was published in 1977 and has a blue cover. Anyone have any idea? She had one at one point but it got destroyed when our basement flooded. I would love to get her one for Chanukah. Thanks!

I think my mother has one also. I wouls have no idea where to get it now though. you could always do a search on several of the used book sites- like alibris or something similar. it's better to look it up by ISBN number though. so either find someone who has it for the number or look it up on the library of congress website.

I really feel old. Mine is 26 years old. Blue hard cover.. yellow jacket. I have the new purlpe one , and the peasch one which is also 25 years old. I still refer to my treasure old one. I love them all. The best I feel. I do not particullary the new Fancy ones. I am not trying to impress anyone. My family likes the old stuff:)

I actually have a few extra copies here. I had bought them for my daughters, and am not sure they want them!! I'll have to ask.
I found them on half.com and maybe amazon.com
I bought the very original first printing about 32 years ago when it first came out. That one died, and I have one copy here which is missing a bunch of pages.
I treasure it.
Let me know, via pm if you can't find it on half.com

Mine was $5 back when I used to come for Pegishas. Ah, the olden days ....
If you want any photocopies from it, let me know; I'd be glad to do that for you.

I think I found it on one of those rare book sites. There was no pic so I guessed it was the right one bty the publish date (1977).
Thanks!

I have the yellow softcover given to me for free at my first student pegisha. I like it better than the purple one - less packaged goods, more normal as opposed to gourmet or special recipes, more heimishe. I would never part with it no matter how much food is spilled all over it. I do have the purple one and Pesach one as well.
