If someone asks you a question, like if you are happy with something and your happiness doesn't pertain to them and you don't want them to know, would you tell the truth? I'm anon because people who know me irl will know that I lied about something.

I wouldnt always tell the truth depends how close to the person I was if I wanted them to know personal details about me

Be Jewish, never answer a question directly and always answer a question with a question. It is the most annoying thing in the world and will ultimately get people off your back.

Here's an example.

"Are you happy with the way your dh drives?"
"Why are you asking?"
"Because I saw the way you looked at him while he was driving and wondered whether you were unhappy with his driving?"
"Is this really important for you to know? I want to understand..."
"I just saw how you were looking at him and wondered if you were happy or unhappy with the way your dh was driving"
"Oh, are YOU happy with the way YOUR dh drives?"
"I wasn't talking about my dh, I was talking about YOUR dh!"
"But are you happy with the way your dh drives?"
"I was aking you about your dh".
"I know but are YOU happy with...

And so on.
They may not get the message but boy will they get tired of it...

I don't really think it's a good idea to lie ... but if you don't want to hurt someone - find a truth ...

BRILLIANT! I'm never swift enough to remember this strategy, I'm always so discombobulated when ppl ask incredibly nosy questions I usually end up answering. I really must practice this!
