Try sauteeing a large, chopped onion, then browning the farfel together with the onion. Then cook to package instructions and season with a tablespoon or so chicken soup powder and a dash of black pepper. The onion is the key.

I use some sugar, salt, and black pepper. We like it pretty plain. My MIL mentioned that they sell pre-spiced farfel at the supermarket and it tastes great. Perhaps I'll try it someday.

It's not the same as the ones sauteed for a long time and spiced that way, but it is pretty good.

I also use onion and sometimes mushrooms, then brown the farfal in that mixture, pour boiling water on it and let it cook with cover on until water boils out. Add salt, pepper garlic. Yum!! Getting so in the mood for farfal Smile

Am I the only one who just toasts it in oil, and then adds water, salt and black pepper? I like it peppery!
I also like to serve it with a fresh israeli salad with fresh onions. YUM!

Nope, I also make mine that way! Fresh Israeli salad seems like an awesome idea. Perhaps I'll make some next time.
