I'm not so happy about this...

I discovered that the perfect rice, farfel, and pasta involves LOTS of oil… I never used to cook with oil, and added a tablespoon or so when making Chinese rice… now I poured a bunch one day by accident and the rice was amazing (Spanish rice). Why oh why is it lie this… so unfair.

I know my dh was just asking me to try to cook a bit healthier as he thinks he gained some weight. The problem with that is I know we will be sacrificing taste. I don't cook super oily but I do use oil and salt and soy sauce.

I don't think she's talking about the flavor, but oil keeps rice and pasta from sticking together and makes the consistency a lot nicer. I also feel it's frustrating that using more oil makes for better pasta and rice.
