How do you like it, fresh from the head or bought in a jar?

recipes come out better when you use fresh, but out of convenience I mainly used crushed from the jar and garlic powder.

I like the fresh clove, but I'm so lazy about mincing it. Recently I found that McCormick makes really great minced garlic in a jar. It tastes just like fresh garlic.

It depends on your minhag. Even though it is not chometz or kitniyos, some communities have the minhag not to use garlic. I'm not sure of the reason.

It is possible that in the past, in Europe it was stored in flour. that was the case with a few things that people have the minhag not to use, that the method of preserving or storage was with chometz.

Hi SaraG just been talking to my husband and he says that we do not use garlic on Peseach he thinks it is something to do with the way it used to be stored, but the minhag for Chabad Lubavitch is not to use garlic along with nearly everything else. Happy Peseach cleaning!!!!

I love the cubes. The jars are good but notice they have an almost unlimited fridge life.
I think garlic used to grow inthe wheat fields, thats may be why the minhag started.

I have also heard that garlic, in the old country, grew near the wheat field.

It's not shayach today, you can use fresh garlic if you want to. It doesn't grow near the wheat anymore!!!!!!

We realized this a couple of years ago and asked the rov about garlic, ginger, and a bunch of other things.

I have been told that it used to be stored in alcohol so that is why some do not use it. as per rabbi zirkind jr.
