I made some butternut squash but its stringy in the middle (not just in the hole) and has white spots. I want to be sure it doesn't mean its infested. I did a google search and didn't come up with anything. I microwaved it anyways. Anyone know if we can eat it?

butter nut squash sometimes in israel comes like that... it wasnt infested, rather old, when it happened to me. and it tasted sooooooo bitter. good luck.
