I have a bunch of random items that don't have proper locations in my house. I kind of keep them either in a junk draw in the kitchen, in a junk draw in my bedroom, on the fridge, tucked on top of a closet, in a corner of the seforim bookcases, in the bottom of the linen closet, bathroom shelf, seforim bookcase draw... but when I need them, it takes me half an hour to find the last place I decided it belonged in.
where do you keep the following items(or with what do you group it)?
1.rolls of leftover ribbon from purim?
2. stamps & envelopes?
3.glue and scotch tape?
4. a good blow dryer not used in a few years?
5. children's class lists?
6. handles from cabinets and bedroom dresser that fell off
7. clothes that will fit in a few months from now?( I store old clothes but what about clothes that I bought on sale for the near future that I don't have room for in the kids regular drawers?)
8. baby moniter?
9.wires that I think belong to my camcorder and camera and mabey something else?
10. camcorder and camera?
11. the tiny pieces that fit in the shabbos timer?
12. a bunch of keys to odd places that I rarely need?
13. pile of shaimos papers?
14.hair/shaitel rollers that I did not use in over 3 years?
15.blank thank you cards?
16. batterries that may or may not work?
17.new picture frames that I don't need yet?
18.old glasses I keep for emergency?
19. an extra good door lock?
20. cassettes from home videos that are not yet transfered to dvd?
enough for now.

that's 20 items ... let me know when you find out ...
as for the handles - put them on ... NOW ... and you'll have 19 ...
get a junk drawer and put the batteries, tape, stamps & envelopes, blank thank-you cards, keys, ribbon ...
put the tiny pieces back into the timer - or get rid of them ...
put the wires with the camcorder to make one item ...
make a shelf on top of a closet ...
really I'm in the same rut - mess - predicament ...
I think you gotta let go of the sentiment - if you don't really use them so they say - who is "they" I don't know - I suppose the cleaning goddesses ...

1.rolls of leftover ribbon from purim?
I like to use a wrapping paper /ribbon holder to store these things
2. stamps & envelopes?
a desk drawer/supply box/supply drawer
3.glue and scotch tape?
a desk drawer/supply box/supply drawer
4. a good blow dryer not used in a few years?
on a shelf in the closet, together with hats? still figuring this out
5. children's class lists?
hang them with scotch tape on the inside of the upper cabinet doors for easy access
6. handles from cabinets and bedroom dresser that fell off
take a screw driver and put them back on
7. clothes that will fit in a few months from now?( I store old clothes but what about clothes that I bought on sale for the near future that I don't have room for in the kids regular drawers?)
hang them in the closet, it takes up less room
8. baby moniter?
with other electronics... I still don't have a perfect place for these things
9.wires that I think belong to my camcorder and camera and mabey something else?
a drawer/box reserved for wires
10. camcorder and camera?
still figuring this out... for now they are on top of the dining room curio and on top of the bedroom armoire
11. the tiny pieces that fit in the shabbos timer?
keep them plugged into the timers
12. a bunch of keys to odd places that I rarely need?
junk drawer or reserve the inside of one cabinet with hooks for LABLED ONLY keys
13. pile of shaimos papers?
keep a manilla envelope in your bookshelf with the shaimos papers
14.hair/shaitel rollers that I did not use in over 3 years?
in a hair accessory drawer/box... or just give them away
15.blank thank you cards?
in the supply draw/box
16. batterries that may or may not work?
take an alarm clock, tape recorder... test them right away and throw out the ones that don't work
17.new picture frames that I don't need yet?
on the bottom part of the bookshelf, with the doors (lined up like a book)
18.old glasses I keep for emergency?
in your nighttable drawer
19. an extra good door lock?
in the toolbox
20. cassettes from home videos that are not yet transfered to dvd?
keep them in the cabinet part of the bookshelf
An overall tip... I found that a $25 plastic container of 6 drawers (comes with optional wheels) was a great investment for the little things around the house that are needed, but don't have a place. It's much neater than having various boxes around the house. Lable each drawer (sewing supplies, ribbons-tape-scissors, envelopes-cards-stamps, cell phone charges-earphones, hair accessories, batteries-shabbos timers-pins...)

A set of small drawers, apothecary drawers, a granny cabinet, or a junk drawer with dividers is immensely useful. We also have several Rubbermaid stackable totes holding things like Duplos, electronics/computer wires, connections for my digital piano, etc.

1.rolls of leftover ribbon from purim?
In a carton with a stack of gift bags and trimmings, bought or recycled from MM and gifts received
2. stamps & envelopes?
In a drawer with greeting cards and stationery
3.glue and scotch tape?
In a drawer with other office supplies: pens, markers, compasses, rulers, paper clips, etc.
4. a good blow dryer not used in a few years?
Give it away to Goodwill or a gmach
5. children's class lists?
Not sure what a class list is. If it's a list of the kids and their addresses and phone nuumbers, either with your own address book, or in a folder containing all other school info that you receive when school starts.
6. handles from cabinets and bedroom dresser that fell off
Remount them and then storage is not a problem. Failing that, put in an envelope and tape to the inside of the drawer or cabinet door so it's not misplaced.
7. clothes that will fit in a few months from now?( I store old clothes but what about clothes that I bought on sale for the near future that I don't have room for in the kids regular drawers?)
In a labeled carton either under the kid's bed or on a shelf in his closet
8. baby moniter?
Assuming you're saving it for a future baby, in a carton with all the other baby equipment you're saving. If you're finished having babiers, give it away to a new mother or a baby gmach.
9.wires that I think belong to my camcorder and camera and mabey something else?
With the camcorder, camera and something else. If they don't work with any of these appliances, put them in metal recycling. Yes, metal--the copper wire inside is what gets recycled.
10. camcorder and camera?
Let dh find a place for it, or store with family outing gear or in computer cabinet
11. the tiny pieces that fit in the shabbos timer?
In a little box of clear plastic or a clear ziplok bag in a drawer in the china cabinet
12. a bunch of keys to odd places that I rarely need?
In a little cabinet designed for keys, mounted on a wall
13. pile of shaimos papers?
In a plastic bag on the coat rack, like sacred recycling (which is what it is) ready to be taken to shul or wherever you deliver shaimos when convenient
14.hair/shaitel rollers that I did not use in over 3 years?
In a box on a high shelf in your closet, or if you will never use them again, give away to a sheitel gmach
15.blank thank you cards?
In the same drawer with the stamps and stationery
16. batterries that may or may not work?
Buy an inexpensive pocket battery testter. Dispose of the bad ones and keep the good ones in a box inside your toolbox
17.new picture frames that I don't need yet?
18.old glasses I keep for emergency?
There should be only one pair and these go with your sunglasses in your dresser
19. an extra good door lock?
In a box labeled "front door lock" in your hardware cabinet or toolbox
20. cassettes from home videos that are not yet transfered to dvd?
in a wall-mounted cassette rack or a cassette storage box
