so here we are again, self cleaning cycle time. I have a fear of oven issues. in my first apartment, the oven caught fire and I had to call the fire department. in my second apartment, my oven set off the carbon monoxide alarm while roasting a turkey. I didn't realize it was a carbon monoxide alarm and smoke detector in one, and thought it was just the smoke alarm being weird. fortunately I got myself and baby out of the apartment once I realized what was happening.

so here we are with the really cool oven that isn't from the sixties or a heap of junk that uses a dinky little pilot light that goes out whenever it feels like it. and I'm scared of the self cleaning cycle. I ran it for forty minutes last night and the smoke alarm went off. eeeek. and now I'm running it again. double eeeek. eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkk.

words of wisdom, anyone?
