What can I make with phyllo dough & how is it different than pastry dough?

I have a package sitting in my freezer that someone accidentally bought me instead of pastry dough.

There's a recipe in Kosher by Design for apples in phyllo dough & its twisted at the top like a purse. Think its called "Beggars Purse". My mother had the caterer make them for a Bar mitzvah - yum! I also once made another recipe like that but it was like an apple strudel - like a log shape. Can't remember where it came from.

Phyllo consists of paper-thin leaves that must be kept moist. dishes are made by brushing each sheet with oil or melted fat, stacking, and then filling with whatever.

You can make strudel, spanakopita, bourekas, turnovers, baklava... see

just google on "phyllo recipes"
