My friend and I were having an argument if you're supposed to tip after getting an eyebrow waxing or not. If yes, how much?

Assuming you're in the US (EY custom might be difference), the answer is yes, just as you should after a manicure or something else of that sort. Usual amount is 15%-20%.

Yes. If it's an $8 waxing, then tipping $1 is customary.
OOT Bubby's 15%-20% is very accurate. When I go to a nicer salon for something, I usually tip about 20%. Otherwise, about 15%.

I usually aim for 15% but round it up to an even amount.

15 or 20 percent is a cheap tip. do you get good service? I always tip much more than that.

If the total is under $20, I usually round up the tip to the nearest 5 I.e. 10, 15, 20, (but a minimum of 2 bucks if it comes out to nine) otherwise I give 15-20%.

While you certainly can tip more if you want for good service, I think what is appropriate is what is customary in society, which I believe is 15-20%.

Tipping is for an employee, not an owner.
And no, 15% is not a good tip. You can't expect fabulous service with anything that low.

You are paying the salon. The worker there most likely makes a low wage as she is allowed to keep all of her tips.

I usually tip $1 per service, whether it's manicure, eye brow wax, leg wax, pedicure. I would love to do more but we are not made of money.

If those girls really make that little, then, they should work it out with their bosses. Now, by tipping, you are basically enabling those bosses to continue their same old practice and making them richer. Chapeau!

It's not my rule nor can I change things. I specially go to a cheap place, bh, and usually have a coupon too. But I'd never skimp on the nicety that I give a worker.

I always tip. A lot. I also think you need to tip the workers this is what they work for.

But we're not answering the point------ irrelevent on whether one must tip or not, why aren't employees paid adequately by their employer. Why should that responsability fall on us (the consumer) who are already paying for the service????
