one more thing to keep in mind in the balto/s.s. debate is schools. if you're looking for more BY type- stick to Balto. if you don't need that, then you'll be fine in S.S. And you'd rather have your dh do the commuting than your kids.
(I'm the one that PM-ed you... I lived in both cities, now I live in Balto.)
