we're iyH making an upsherin for my son next week
my husband's family is Sepharadic
I'm still really ashkenazi
I want to make food that will taste good for them
any ideas that are easy but taste good and are presentable,
preferably not sweet as I dont eat any sweet foods
oh and fleishig

mini franks in blankets, meat balls shnitzel all nuetral foods I think and rice and roasted little potatoes various salads all depends how uch work you want to do and if buffet or sit down.

I'm doing bagels and spreads and vegi / fruit platters and desserts served in individual portions. (brownies, lemon squares, kokosh cake, banana bread, IY"H)
I went to one recently where they had a barbecue and cute iced cookies with upsherin themes.
There's always the famous tzitzis cake. I'm keeping it simple though because that's where I am right now.

Barbeque is great for anybody and everybody.
By the way, I don't know which Sephardic sect you guys are, but Syrians eat sweet foods. (sweet and sour)
