I'm looking for a good & easy recipe for kishke.
When a recipe says to bake does it necessarily mean bake or if I put it in the cholent without baking is also ok?
How do you put it into the cholent?
silver paper?
saran wrap?
directly in cholent?

I use the recipe from Spice and Spirit - not the tam tam one. I always bake it before I put it in the cholent. I think it gives instructions for that in the recipe. I put it in the cholent in foil.

for some recipes its necessary to bake it first so it gets more solid and doesnt mush in the chulent.
I keep mine rolled in parchment paper till shabbos (dont bake it first) and then leave it staright in the chulent

I love the vegetable kishke from spice and spirit too- I bake it in greased foil or parchment paper then put it on top of cholent right before shabbos in the foil.
