Can anyone here give me some tips on how they found good places to get cheap produce?
I would love to buy a huge box of, say, really ripe tomatoes for very little. I have been searching my area for "discount" produce and produce wholesalers, but, strangely, have found their prices to higher than the regular grocery stores. I also looked into "U-Pick" farms, but their prices are also higher than my regular grocery store prices. I am getting a bit confused. My regular grocery store doesn't put out produce past its prime, either.

I go to a kosher food pantry for basic staples. The particular one I go to has juice, eggs, milk, formula along with canned/boxed items. For the rest, I go to KRM to get meat and cheese. I eat a lot of fish and veggies during the week.
Also, food stamps has farmer's market vouchers now so take advantage of that.
Good luck and hugs!
