Thanks OOT Bubby. I found one where you suggested how to add a peanut butter swirl to ice cream. I was thinking of just peanut butter flavor ice cream, but maybe I'll try the swirl since I haven't found the pb ice cream.

Try it -- its really good. I caught my DS who isn't a dessert person eating it from the container!

2 questions -
1. can u please post the link to the pbswirl recipe??

2. do you use an equivalent amount of eggbeaters to 4 eggs?

TY!

This is the recipe (faster to paste it here from my file than to find it)

Peanut Butter Swirl Pareve Ice Cream

16 ounce Rich’s Whip
1/2 cup sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Beat whip till stiff, add sugar beat, add eggs one at a time, add vanilla.
Peanut Butter Swirl
1 1/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup margarine
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix together

Mix peanut mixture into the ice cream and swirl for 30 seconds.

Freeze

To substitute Egg Beaters, use 1/4 cup per egg, so for this recipe, use 1 cup.

I had the most amazing ice cream on friday night.
1 package of strawberries (pound)
1 egg white (I would use the stuff in boxes from the grocery store which is pasteurized)
1 cup of sugar.

crush strawberries
whip egg white into meringUe and add sugar
combine (fold) strawberries and meringue
freeze.

yum

I thought that the pasteurized egg whites don't whip up well enough for ice cream -- have you found otherwise?

Thank you both! OOTBubby, I never make homemade parece ice cream because they always call for raw eggs- never occured to me to use eggbeaters until you mentioned it. So thanks for that!

Any ideas for flavors? I'm thinking of trying coffee...what else have you tried that is good?Any ideas with basic ingredients that I could have at home?

I make this recipe every shabbos, but I add Bloomeo cookies (chocolate sandwich cookies) crushed into small pieces (not powder). My kids love it!

That's a great idea! I don't think I have any Bloomeos in the house right now, but I definitely will try that a different week. Thanks!

I make this recipe as is and we always love it, but I wanted to make strawberry this week. I bought a package of Bodek strawberries-- should I just blend it up and fold it in, or do I need to leave out the vanilla?

Can I possibly add praline paste to this recipe to add that flavor?
