Can you freeze cabbage with noodles? Anyone tried it?

Yes, I do it all the time. Tastes almost as good as fresh. When you reheat in oven make sure it is well covered so the noodles don't dry out.

I freeze the cabbage and cook the noodles that day.

Yes, it really freezes well.
I freeze it in tightly sealed containers for a short amount of time. Sometimes I place the container in a Ziplock bag as well.
I heat it up for Shabbos/Yom Tov wrapped tightly in silver foil, on the blech, in a double boiler.
Comes out great.

I've done it both ways - freezing just the cabbage and cooking the noodles fresh as well as freezing it with the noodles already cooked. Both ways work just fine.

Can I freeze it in a tall container like you would freeze soup?

Yes. I freeze mine in the 2 lb containers.
