I found this inspiring: Today at the table, DH brought up from a sefer the fact that, while on Hoshana Rabba we encircle all the sifrei Torah on the bimah, giving them kavod, on Simchas Torah we hold the sifrei Torah but actually dance around an empty table. What are we celebrating?
Rav Yitzchak Sher gave his meaningful interpretation, and (not to compete, of course) I thought of this: Maybe Simchas Torah with its theme of a new beginning teaches us to celebrate an opportunity for a fresh start, to rejoice hopefully about potential, and to dance in appreciation that the meaning of life is in our own hands, and we all hold something we can bring to the table.
