What do you do with your leftover cholent?

I'm just wondering if there is a majority action.

Eat it during the week? Pick out the meat and toss the rest? Toss it all? Use it to cement your driveway? Freeze it for an emergency?

I'm not a picky eater & I'm not into wasting food. Me & the kids like eating leftover cholent. My cholent tastes good the first time & I think it tastes just as good the second time. My husband doesn't usually eat the leftovers unless alot of meat is leftover. Then all of a sudden he's interested.

Nobody here wants to eat leftover cholent so I pack it up after shabbos and send it home with the housekeeper. She loves it.

I don't ever have leftover cholent. That solves the problem. 8)

I throw it out.

last week I ate it saturday night for dinner, which I might start doing more often as it's getting colder.

my dh won't touch it though and he totally made fun of me for eating it last week!

I make a tiny, tiny yummy cholent. I eat a bowl. My dh eats a bowl. my children eat their bowls= no more cholent.

I try so hard to make a small cholent. But by the time I put just a little of this and just a little of that, it's already pretty big.

this is what I do. I don't know if you would consider it small:

4 cups water
1 tspn salt
2 minute steaks
1 piece of chicken
1 potato
1 onion
4 garlic
1/2 cup barley
onion/garlic pwder
paprika
pepper

Okay, so I have about the same, minus the chicken, plus one extra potato... but I also have maybe 2 cups of beans and a kishke. I guess that's what makes my 6 quart crock pot fill up almost to the top.

its hard enough for me to eat cholent on shabbos
I only let dh make it if we are having guests
but then he eats it for breakfast and lunch and all thats left is some beans and mush which goes to the garbage

I make a tiny one & usually what's left is the burnt/dried bottom, so it goes to the garbage.

Dh doesn't mind eating it on sunday night - so occasionaly if I make to much & it isn't dry I put it away for him.

After throwing out the leftovers one to many times, I learned how to make a small cholent.
2 potatoes, 2 cups of beans, 2 pieces meat, plus kishke, onion and barley is an aweful lot.
How many people do you serve? I used to make a cholent like you. It took a while until I had the guts to finally try to halve the cholent. Not only is there enough, there's leftovers to snack on later on Shabbos day.
Now I use 1 cup beans, 1/4 cup barley, 1-1/2 carrots (instead of potato), a small piece of meat (since I realized no one was really eating it), half an onion, 1-1/2 cloves garlic...
Try making the cholent this week with 1 potato, 1 cup of beans, 1/4 cup barley, meat, and only half a loaf of kishke. I'm certain it will be enough.

I just throw whatevers leftover out because I can't stand leftover cholent and DH isn't home during the week to eat it. SOMETIMES he saves it (like last week) thinking he'll get to it at some point.

What a great idea! Maybe I'll try this sometime. We usually try to eat it during the week, but it doesn't always get finished.

I just cleaned out my fridge and found ... well, more than one... leftover cholent containers at the back. embarrassed

I hardly make cholent, but when I do, I have leftovers. What I sometimes do is add a package of sauerkraut and serve it the next day. It's wonderful, different and healthier.
