there are MILLIONS of recipes on imamother, it's an amazing resource (thank you!).

I'd like everyone to name ONE recipe that they found on imamother that is always a hit, that they make time and time again. When you name it, please either add a link to it, copy and paste it in, or give the name that can be searched to find it easily.

I'll start: Nish Nosh Salad. I love this and whenever I make it it's a total hit. Thank you Bennysmommy!

Salad:
Lettuce
Cabbage
Scallions (green onions)
cherry tomatoes
sour cream and onion flavored nishnashim crackers

Dressing:
5 cloves of garlic, crushed (use less if they're big)
1 cup mayo
2 T dijon mustard (I have used ground mustard when I was out of dijon)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 t. lemon juice
salt and pepper

The dressing makes enough for a very large salad or 2 smaller ones. Leftover dressing can be used on plain cabbage for an easy salad.

Picture this... It's an hour before candle lighting and your husband reminds you that he did invite that family for lunch tomorrow. Oh No!! You need one more side dish right? Not to worry... this is the fastest lukshen kugel ever:
4 1/2 cups water
1/2 cup oil OR 1 stick parve margarine (NOT both)
1 cup sugar
salt and pepper (I like it peppery)
2 TB brown sugar
2 eggs
16 oz extra fine egg noodles

put in large pot water, margarine (or oil) white sugar salt and pepper. When the water boils close the flame and add the noodles (NOT pre cooked... RAW!).
Mix noodles into mixture, let it cool down for a few minutes (NOT TOO LONG). Add brown sugar and eggs.
Put in a greased 9 X 9 inch pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour
I use a nice bundt pan instead... it looks awesome and tastes amaaaazing!
Enjoy!!! Please let me know how much you love this recipe... RAW noodles people means only one thing... LESS pots and bowls to wash!!! WooooHooooo!!!!

CM's floureless peanut butter cookies

1 c p.b.
1 c brown sugar (I have made it with splenda and it was fine)
1 egg
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 c choc chips

mix together, roll into balls and flatten. Bake 9abt 10 min) We like them from the freezer.

Notice this is a gluten free recipe. I give this out to ppl all the time and they all love it! It takes no time to make and is a sure fire crowd pleaser. Thanks CM

Heaven 3 minute Sesame Chiicken by Mommy007. Thanks Tons! This is soooo easy and fast to make and Yummy too!

No joke...This is a yummy chicken and it looks like you really worked!

Salt and garlic on chicken
1/2 cup sesame terriyaki
1/2 cup duck sauce
Mix together and spread on chicken
Pour sesame seeds over chicken

Bake 350 for 45 covered and 45 minutes uncovered

Enjoy!!!

I'm very interested in this thread. I've tried a few recipes from Imamother and liked them all. I like that they are tried and tasted by "real" people.

It doesn't really make a difference whose recipe it is but rather what the recipe is.

BTW I really like Mama Bear's Blueberry Crumble Kugel. Literally takes 5 mins. to make (w/o baking obviously)

BLUEBERRY CRUMBLE KUGEL

4 C FLOUR
1 1/2 C SUGAR
2 TSP BAKING POWDER
2 VANILLA SUGAR
1 C OIL
2 EGGS
1 CAN PIE FILLING - YOU CAN PUT IN APPLE, CHERRY, BLUEBERRY, PLUM, WHATEVER.

COMBINE ALL INGREDIENTS TO FORM A CRUMBLY DOUGH. SPREAD 1/2 OF CRUMB MIXTURE INTO LARGE ROASTER PAN OR 3 NINE INCH PANS. SPREAD FILLING OVER DOUGH. COVER WITH REMAINING CRUMBS. BAKE FOR 1 HOUR AT 350.

For people who don't go for the Yerushalmi taste, leave out all the sugar and add 1/4 cup minced onions, rehydrated in twice as much water. My recipe - for the Yerushalmi - is the same but it calls for 3 eggs and 12 oz. noodles, baked in greased 9 x 13, covered 45 minutes, uncovered 45 (or less). Not trying to improve Gamekeeper's recipe, just saying that if you fool around with it, just be aware that mine's a little different.

ABC, what are nish nosh crackers? Can I use Tam Tams, or are these totally different? Also, can you give approximates amounts for the salad? (Something like this? 12 oz. lettuce, 8 oz. cabbage, 3 scallions, 1/2 container cherry tomatoes?)

Cabbage in Puffed Pastry

2 onions
2 T oil
1 bag coleslaw mix - 1 lb.
salt and pepper
pinch of nutmeg (opt)
mustard
duck sauce
malawach

Saute onions and cabbage in the oil for abt 12-15 min. Add salt and pepper to taste. Roll out malawach cirlce as thinly as possible. Spread with mustard. Cut into 12 triangles, top each with spoon of cabbagemixture, roll up, brush with duck sauce. Bake 350 for 35 minutes or until golden.

There were suggestions to brush with chilli sauce instead with I did.
And there were suggestions to try with deli which I haven't tried.

Chocolate Moose, I really think that you are the only poster bothered by this type of thread (I don't recall any other posters complaining about it). So since you are mentioned in it and no one else seems to mind, what is the problem exactly?
