I was told that herbal tea needs a hechsher.
I received a sample of "traditional Medicinals organic raspberry Leaf"
I was wondering if anyone knows if it is kosher.

Also, what are the benefits of drinking raspberry leaf tea?

Not sure on the hechsher, but raspberry leaf tea is good for the female reproductive organs (specifically the uterus).

This is quite funny b/c I just received a box of this exact tea yesterday from a friend. My box has an OK hechsher on it. I went to their website this morning b/c I wanted to know if they had a mother's milk tea (they do) and to see if this is also Kosher.

On their website you can type kosher in the search box and see for yourself. They list all of their products that are kosher by the OK.

Hope this helps. Oh and it says it is good for all parts of the female reproductive system. It suppossedly aids menstruation, supports the uterine wall, and is good for the skin.
It also says to get the best benefits you have to steep it for 10-15 minutes.

Bulk tea does not need a hechser as it's only twigs and herbs. But if it's treated in any way, it def. needs a hechsher.

B"H

I don't know if all of the Traditional Medicinals are Kosher. I do know the ones I've used in the past (I'm assuming they're still fine, though I could be mistaken).

I've used Mother's Milk, Pregnancy Tea (different from Raspberry Leaf), and Throat Coat.
