suction cups - I think that's what they are called - I bought this mesh bag with suctions to hold bath toys in the bathroom but the suctions never stay up - what's the trick?
Should I just glue it?

Wet the cups before you stick them and they tend to work better. But some are good and some aren't.

also, I think they have an effectiveness life. At some point they just don't stick as well.

the surface to which you stick them must be 100% clean, smooth and dry. The least bit of dirt, opil or mineral scale will defeat the suction.
also, they don't have unlimited strength. If you try to hand something too heavy, it will come down.
