de_goldy started a thread like this, so I thought I would give this a shot.
I dont remember much, I think I was 6 or 7 when I watched this, at someones birthday party or something
two girls become friends (it is in the 1800s or early 1900s) and they go to some house on the top of a mountain, a father is taking care of them, one of the girls mothers had died and like she comes back as a ghost or something like that? its very vague to me....
anyone have any clue??

Except for the ghost thing, I think it sounds a lot like "Heidi"

no it definitely wasnt ive seen that movie 
the house was an old victorian type house and it was up a hill other than that I remember so little...they took a train to the house...whatever...I thought maybe it would jog someone elses memory!! thanks anyway

maybe it is the second heidi book (movie)? in book one she goes alone to her grandfathers house, in book 2 she comes with her friend.
